Does winter range loss really matter if you charge at home?

I keep seeing the same winter range anxiety posts, but I’m starting to wonder if it’s overblown for the average owner. My commute is 40 miles round trip. Even with a 30% cold weather hit, my car still has plenty of buffer. The only time I even notice the drop is on road trips, and that’s just planning an extra stop. For people without home charging, I get it—public fast chargers get slower in the cold. But for the majority who plug in overnight, is the whole winter range narrative just fear-mongering? Curious if anyone else thinks the panic is worse than the actual problem, or if I’m just missing something obvious.
