Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data evmagazine.eu collects, why, on what legal basis, and what you can do about it. It is written under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Who is the controller

The joint controllers of your personal data are Daniel Česák (IČO 73808890) and Miriam Česáková (IČO 05312361), Janáčkova 267, Neratovice, Czech Republic — the operators of this website. Full identification is in our Imprint.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer; we are not required to.

What we collect, and why

1. Reading the website

Our web server records each request: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser's user agent. These logs keep the site secure and let us diagnose faults. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure service. Logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to build profiles.

2. Cookies and consent

We use Google's consent management platform to ask for your choices about advertising and measurement. You can consent, refuse consent, or manage individual purposes and partners. Closing the message does not give consent. Your choices are recorded so they can be applied on later visits. Where processing is based on consent, its legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You can change or withdraw your choice through the “Privacy and cookie settings” link in the footer. If Google's interface is blocked by your browser or an extension, the link opens this privacy policy instead.

3. Advertising — Google AdSense

This website is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google and the partners listed in the consent interface may process identifiers and information about your use of the site to select and measure advertisements. Where consent is required, the purposes and partners you accept determine which processing is permitted.

Refusing consent does not necessarily remove all advertisements. Google may be able to serve limited advertisements, subject to the applicable consent signals, its policies and available advertising demand. We do not guarantee an advertisement on every visit.

4. Measurement

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand readership and how visitors use the website. We also use a Google Ads tag to measure the effects of our advertising campaigns. These services are provided by Google Ireland Limited. The tags use Google Consent Mode: advertising and analytics storage are denied by default, and the consent platform updates the relevant signals after your choice. Without permission for storage, Google tags may still send limited, cookieless measurement signals. Refusing consent therefore does not mean that no network request is sent to Google.

We also use TOPlist, a Czech visit-counting service, for basic audience statistics. Its measurement pixel is loaded when a public page is viewed and is not currently controlled by Google's consent interface. The request sends the page address and title, referrer and basic screen information. As with other requests to external services, the recipient also receives the network IP address. Refusing consent in the Google dialog does not disable this TOPlist request. TOPlist and Google may count visits differently.

5. Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your e-mail address in order to send you the newsletter. Legal basis: consent. Every message contains an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing deletes your address from the mailing list. We do not sell or share e-mail addresses.

6. Signing in with Google or Facebook

You may create an account using Google or Facebook. If you do, we receive your basic profile information and e-mail address from that provider, and use them solely to identify your account. We never pass this data to third parties. You can revoke the connection at any time in your profile, which deletes the data from our systems.

7. Contact form

What you write in the contact form — your name, e-mail address and message — is used to answer you and for nothing else.

8. Google News / Subscribe with Google

Pages include Google's Subscribe with Google script, which allows articles to be surfaced in Google News. It is subject to the Google Privacy Policy linked above.

9. Discussion (comments)

If you comment on an article or in the Discussions section, we store your account name, the text of your comment, the time it was posted, and a hashed record of your IP address. The hashed IP record is used to detect spam and abuse and is kept for a short period (48 hours).

Comments are visible on the website together with your account name. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a discussion under the Terms of Use.

Comments and topics are reviewed by automated systems (AI moderation) and, in serious cases, by our editors. The automated systems do not build profiles; they classify content (spam, abuse, off-topic) and flag it for review or hide it according to the settings in the Terms of Use.

You may ask us to delete your comments at any time by writing to info@evmagazine.eu; we will remove them within one month. Deleting your account removes your account name and personal data; comments are kept only in a form that does not identify you, where we have a legitimate interest in preserving the discussion (e.g. replies by others).

Who else sees your data

We do not sell personal data. Data is processed on our behalf, or in their own right, by: Google Ireland Limited (advertising, Google Analytics, Google News, sign-in), Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (sign-in, if you use it), TOPlist (visit counting), and our hosting provider, whose servers are located in the Czech Republic.

Some of these providers may transfer data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens it is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you,
rectify it if it is wrong,
erase it ("right to be forgotten"),
restrict how we process it,
object to processing based on legitimate interest,
receive it in a portable form,
withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.

To exercise any of these, write to info@evmagazine.eu. We answer within one month.

If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you may complain to the Czech Data Protection Authority — Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, Czech Republic, uoou.cz — or to the supervisory authority in your own country.

Withdrawing your cookie consent

Use the “Privacy and cookie settings” link in the footer to reopen Google's consent interface and change or withdraw your choices. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out. Changing your choice to refusal updates the Google consent signals; it does not automatically delete cookies already stored. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser. Blocking cookies can affect some website functions.
