Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data evmagazine.eu collects, why, on what legal basis, and what you can do about it. It is written under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Who is the controller

The joint controllers of your personal data are Daniel Česák (IČO 73808890) and Miriam Česáková (IČO 05312361), Janáčkova 267, Neratovice, Czech Republic — the operators of this website. Full identification is in our Imprint.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer; we are not required to.

What we collect, and why

1. Reading the website

Our web server records each request: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser's user agent. These logs keep the site secure and let us diagnose faults. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure service. Logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to build profiles.

2. Cookies and consent

When you first arrive, a banner asks whether you accept cookies beyond those strictly necessary. Nothing that requires consent runs before you give it. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time — see below.

3. Advertising — Google AdSense

This website is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google may set cookies and process your data — including your IP address and behaviour on this site — to select and measure ads. With your consent, ads may be personalised; without it, Google serves non-personalised ads, which still involve limited processing for frequency capping and fraud prevention.

4. Measurement

We use TOPlist (a Czech visit-counting service) to see how many people read the site, and a Google Ads tag to measure the effect of our own advertising. Both run only after you accept cookies. We do not currently use Google Analytics.

5. Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your e-mail address in order to send you the newsletter. Legal basis: consent. Every message contains an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing deletes your address from the mailing list. We do not sell or share e-mail addresses.

6. Signing in with Google or Facebook

You may create an account using Google or Facebook. If you do, we receive your basic profile information and e-mail address from that provider, and use them solely to identify your account. We never pass this data to third parties. You can revoke the connection at any time in your profile, which deletes the data from our systems.

7. Contact form

What you write in the contact form — your name, e-mail address and message — is used to answer you and for nothing else.

8. Google News / Subscribe with Google

Pages include Google's Subscribe with Google script, which allows articles to be surfaced in Google News. It is subject to the Google Privacy Policy linked above.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell personal data. Data is processed on our behalf, or in their own right, by: Google Ireland Limited (advertising, Google News, sign-in), Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (sign-in, if you use it), TOPlist (visit counting), and our hosting provider, whose servers are located in the Czech Republic.

Some of these providers may transfer data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens it is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you,
rectify it if it is wrong,
erase it ("right to be forgotten"),
restrict how we process it,
object to processing based on legitimate interest,
receive it in a portable form,
withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.

If you believe we handle your data unlawfully, you may complain to the Czech Data Protection Authority — Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, Czech Republic, uoou.cz — or to the supervisory authority in your own country.

Withdrawing your cookie consent

You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the consent banner back. Your browser also lets you block or delete cookies for any website; doing so may break parts of the site.
