Editorial Policy

This page explains who writes evmagazine.eu, how our articles come about, where we use AI, how we handle mistakes, and how advertising relates to what we publish. If anything here does not match what you see on the site, tell us: info@evmagazine.eu.

What we are here for

We cover electric mobility in Europe: new cars, charging infrastructure, prices, regulation and the market. We are not neutral about the technology — we think electric drive is the right direction for road transport, and we say so. That is a stance, not a licence to bend facts. Where the numbers are unflattering for EVs — winter range, charging prices, battery degradation, resale values — we publish them.

We are not paid by any carmaker, charging operator or utility to write anything.

Who is responsible

Editorial responsibility for everything published here rests with Daniel Česák, who decides what goes live. Full contact details are in the Imprint.

Articles appear under pen names. We are a small family operation and we keep our private identities out of the by-lines; the person accountable for the content is named above and is reachable at all times.

How an article is made

We are open about this, because you should be able to judge what you are reading.

  1. Topic selection. We watch manufacturer newsrooms, industry press, registration statistics and our own databases for stories worth covering in a European context.
  2. Drafting. Most news articles are drafted with the help of AI language models. The AI works from sources we select, and produces a first version.
  3. Human review. No draft is published automatically. An editor reads every article, checks the facts and the figures against the sources, rewrites what needs rewriting, and decides whether it is worth publishing at all. A large share of drafts never makes it to the site.
  4. Publication. What goes live carries a date, a section and a by-line, and links to the sources it is based on.

Where we present our own measurements, calculations or database queries — real-world range figures, European charging prices, catalogue comparisons — the numbers come from our own data, and we say where they come from.

Images

Photographs supplied by manufacturers are used as press material and remain their property. Some illustrations are generated with AI image tools; those are marked as illustrations and are never presented as documentary photographs of a real event.

Sources and attribution

When an article is based on someone else's reporting, a manufacturer's press release or a public dataset, we link to it. We quote sparingly and with attribution. We do not republish other outlets' articles.

Mistakes and corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do:

  • Factual errors are corrected as soon as we know about them.
  • If a correction changes the substance of an article, we note it in the article rather than quietly editing it.
  • Articles that have been updated show an "Updated" date next to the publication date.

To report an error, write to info@evmagazine.eu with the URL and what is wrong. We would rather hear it from you than leave it standing.

Advertising and independence

The site is funded by advertising, currently Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence over what we write and no advance sight of it. Advertising slots are marked "Advertisement" and are part of the page layout, not disguised as articles.

If we ever publish sponsored or affiliate content, it will be labelled as such at the top of the article.

Comments and reader contributions

Where readers can contribute, we remove content that is illegal, abusive, or plainly spam. See the Imprint for how to report content.

Privacy

What we collect about you as a reader, and why, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
