Been going back and forth on this. Lab tests show LFP lasting thousands of cycles, but real-world NMC seems to be holding up fine too. Curious if anyone has long-term data from their own vehicle—especially those doing regular DCFC or frequent high-SOC holds. My NMC pack lost about 6% after 40k miles, with mostly Level 2 and weekly fast charges. Would that be worse on LFP? Also, does the flat voltage curve make accurate battery health reporting harder? Trying to decide on my next EV purchase.
LFP cycle life vs NMC: real-world data?
