Winter tyres: worth the cost or not?

Second winter with my EV and I am weighing up proper winter tyres. Last year I ran all-seasons and the car felt fine, but range dropped noticeably once temperatures hit freezing and regen felt weaker. A set of winters plus rims is around 800 here. Neighbours swear the stopping difference on cold, wet roads justifies it. Anyone running winters through the year? How much extra wear are you seeing, and does insurance ever care? Also curious whether the cold pack hurts your cost
