We run 22 electric vans out of one yard and the vehicles have been fine. The site is the problem. Our grid connection caps us at 200 kW, so we stagger overnight charging and still have vans waiting in the morning. Upgrading the supply is serious money and a 14-month wait. Has anyone gone the battery-buffered depot route instead? Curious how it pencils out against a service upgrade once demand charges are in the mix. Also interested in how you handle winter range on longer routes without pulling vans off the road mid-shift.
Depot charging capacity is our real bottleneck
