Public AC charging tariffs are getting silly

I pay around 25p/kWh at home on an overnight tariff. The other day I plugged into a public 11kW AC post in town and it wanted 79p/kWh plus a £1 connection fee. Same speed I get at home, slower than a DC rapid, and nearly three times the price. Is it just me noticing this more, or have AC prices really crept up this year? Also curious how people handle roaming across borders now — do you still bother with a physical RFID card, or is app-only finally reliable enough? Planning a trip through France and Belgium in spring and would rather not get a surprise at the plug.
