How the estimate works
Charging is never a straight line. AC charging is limited by the car's on-board charger, and DC fast charging slows down as the battery fills, especially above 80 %. The calculator uses a typical charging curve scaled to the peak power of the model you pick, plus 5–10 % losses between the wall and the battery.
It is an estimate: cold batteries charge slower, a busy charger may share its power between two cars, and each manufacturer tunes its own curve. Range added uses the official WLTP consumption of the selected car; in winter or at motorway speed expect 20–30 % less.
