What changed in the 2027 line-up
The trim walk is short and easy to follow. The Select RWD starts at $39,995, the Select eAWD at $42,995. Premium RWD is $42,995, Premium eAWD $45,995. The GT costs $50,995 and the Rally $55,290, both with all-wheel drive and the larger 91 kWh pack.
The interesting number is what happened to the extended-range battery. For 2026, extended-range Mach-E versions started at $45,345. For 2027 the same 88 kWh pack sits in a car that starts at $39,995. That is $5,350 less for the bigger battery, achieved by deleting the smaller pack from the range rather than by cutting the price of the pack itself. Buyers who do not need 88 kWh no longer have a cheaper option, and that is a real trade-off for urban drivers who mostly charge at home.
Pack sizes in this class keep creeping up. Svolt recently started series production of a 100 kWh semi-solid pack, and the Mach-E's 88 and 91 kWh figures sit in the same band. Ford has not published the chemistry split for the 2027 packs.
Range: 320 miles EPA
Ford estimates 320 miles (515 km) for rear-wheel-drive versions with the 88 kWh battery under the EPA cycle. Official 2027 figures for the whole range are still to be confirmed.
Divide the pack by the range and you get 17.1 kWh/100 km in EPA terms. That is our calculation, not a Ford figure, and it is worth keeping in mind that EPA numbers are harder to hit than WLTP numbers. A European WLTP figure for the same car would land well above 515 km, but Ford has not published one yet. Anyone comparing a US press release with a European configurator is comparing two different test cycles, not two different cars.
The Trail version costs $45,290
Ford's new Trail trim is based on the Select all-wheel-drive car. Select eAWD at $42,995 plus $2,295 comes to $45,290, which puts it $705 below the Premium eAWD. For that money you get 10 mm more ride height at the front and 15 mm at the rear, a revised steering rack, 19-inch wheels and the Michelin CrossClimate 2 tyres already used on the Mach-E Rally. A 400 W onboard power system with outlets in the cabin and boot is included as well.
That is a light off-road package, not a rally raid kit. CrossClimate 2 is an all-season tyre, and Ford's own description talks about gravel and dirt roads on the way to a trailhead or campsite. Tedious detail for a spec sheet, useful detail for a family that spends weekends on unpaved access roads.
Charging and cost per 100 km
Peak DC charging on extended-range Mach-E models has been around 150 kW since Ford reworked the charging curve in 2022. Against cars like the Denza N8, whose five-minute claim averages out at 937 kW, that looks modest. In practice, an 88 kWh pack on a 150 kW charger is a 30-minute stop, not a 10-minute one.
Running costs are where the arithmetic gets easier. At 17.1 kWh/100 km and a public DC price of €0.45/kWh, 100 km costs about €7.70. On home charging at €0.25/kWh the same distance costs €4.28. A petrol SUV at 7 l/100 km and €1.55/l costs roughly €10.85. One European comparison
Škoda sells the Enyaq 85 with an 82 kWh pack and WLTP range in the upper 500 km band. On paper the Mach-E's 88 kWh looks like more battery for a similar job. The two numbers still cannot be lined up directly, because Škoda quotes WLTP and Ford quotes EPA. What can be compared is pack size and price positioning, and there the Mach-E now sits lower in the US than it did for 2026.
Europe waits for details
Ford has not published 2027 Mach-E specifications or prices for Europe, so the US figures above cannot be moved across to EU list prices without a conversion and a local equipment check. The wider question of where the cells come from is separate: an ACEA-backed study found Europe's battery capacity falls short of the EU's localisation plans, and that affects every brand selling packs here, Ford included.
Ford says deliveries of the 2027 Mach-E begin in the first quarter of 2027. Official EPA range and efficiency figures for the full line-up, including the GT and Rally with the 91 kWh pack, are still to be confirmed.
