Alpine’s Electric Flagship: A Milestone at 70
Celebrating its 70th anniversary, Alpine has revealed the A390, its first electric SUV and third series production model. The vehicle blends the sporting DNA of the A110 with five-seat practicality, setting its sights on premium contenders like the Porsche Macan Electric.
Revealed on May 27, 2025, the A390 embodies Alpine’s new era. Built in Dieppe, France, the fastback SUV leverages a sophisticated three-motor configuration for precise control and thrilling dynamics.
A single front-mounted motor combines with twin rear motors, each controlling an individual wheel. This layout delivers both high performance and superior stability. Power is sourced from an 89 kWh battery developed by Verkor, optimized for high-output electric drive systems.

Charging and Versatility for Everyday Use
The A390 supports DC fast charging at up to 190 kW, enabling a 15–80% charge in under 25 minutes. AC charging comes standard at 11 kW, with an optional 22 kW onboard charger for faster home or destination replenishment.
Despite its performance focus, the A390 is built for daily life: a 532-liter cargo capacity, five-passenger layout, and practical proportions make it as usable as it is exciting.
Inspired Design Meets Real-World Engineering
Drawing directly from the 2024 A390_β concept, the production model retains the “Cosmic Dust” triangular LED signature, aerodynamic sculpting, and integrated spoiler. With a length of 4,615 mm and a height of just 1,532 mm, the A390 is both compact and assertive—shorter and lower than a Tesla Model Y, yet just as practical.
A Cabin Crafted for Driving Enthusiasts
A290-inspired steering wheel integrates an OV (Overboost) button and RCH dial for regenerative braking adjustment.
An 850-watt Devialet audio system with 13 speakers provides immersive sound for every journey.
New "Track" drive mode sharpens throttle and limits stability control, unlocking the car’s full performance potential.
A390 prototypes were tested at –40°C in Swedish Lapland, ensuring robust winter performance and drivetrain resilience.
A390_β represents the Alpine spirit of duality—pure driving excitement fused with everyday elegance. This is our interpretation of what an A110 with five seats should feel like.
Market Launch and Strategic Significance
The A390 is part of Alpine’s "Dream Garage" strategy aiming for a fully electric lineup by 2030. Following the discontinuation of the A110 in 2026, Alpine will become an EV-exclusive brand. Seven models are planned, with the A290 and A390 leading the charge.
